This two person cottage has a galleried bedroom overlooking the large living room, in the centre of which is a log burner standing on a stone plinth acting as a focal point It also has a five piece suite in the classy bathroom. Thee is a dishwasher in the well equipped kitchen and the property benefits from central heating. The floor downstairs sonsists of stone flags (with quality rugs in appropriate places. The seating arrangements are very high quality as well as being comfortble. the cottage has the sky sports package and two televisions - one for the bedroom. Although consistently graded at the very toop end of 4 Star (and under the old grading system ‘Highly Commended’), the cottages has within the last year had a new kitchen fitted with gloss work-tops, halogen cookers and gorgeous granite stone sink. The bathroom has also been up-graded. The cottage has extensive exposed beams and stone-work. The cottage is 300 yards up our private drive and form part of a courtyard facing outwards over the surrounding fields and dales to give excellent views and some degree of privacy. To the side of the cottages is a large grassed and garden area. There is ample area for off-road parking. In the cottage there are seven(!) highly organised information folders, partly written by the owners themselves who are lovers of the Peak. Guests have heaped praise on this source of information which ensure that even those who have stayed with us numerous times still find plenty new to do. Events lists are supplied in advance between May and September. Housekeeping and attention to detail is regarded by the owners, who strive to encourage return visits, as being of paramount importance as is their concern is to ensure guests have an excellent holiday. There are two wild flowers meadows on our land, one of which borders a nature reserve leading after just over a mile to the Rive Dove (at Wolfscote Dale). One mile downstream is Dovedale. The cottages are located off a quiet country lane between the highly popular village of Hartington and its smaller, quieter neighbour, Biggin. Both villages have pubs serving full meals cafes and a church. There is also an excellent restaurants about a mile away. Biggin has a lovely Hall where excellent cream teas are sold. Numerous footpaths surround the land on which the cottages stand, offering unrivalled walking in the best part of the White Peak. The highly popular Tissington Trail, which runs for 17 miles, is used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders, and is less than 1 mile from us. Two further trails, (both of similar distance), are within 3 miles. These three tracks are ideal for family cycling, as is the network of quiet minor roads, which can be accessed at numerous points along the trails. Buxton , Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass, confirming our claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District.
