The field by the Lady Pond, adjacent to the Hall, can be used for walking a dog. There are many ducks and wild life inhabiting the lakeside and control over a dog is required to ensure the wildlife is not disturbed, especially around nesting time. |

Adjacent to the hall Lady Pond still holds its original water wheel. This wheel in its time would pull the water from the lake to the dovecote that stands in the grounds of the Hall to feed the gardens with water. A newly built fishing lodge can, with permission of the owners, be used for BBQ down by the lake, which gives a splendid vista on a summers evening.
This is a lovely area close to Ashbourne, Alton Towers, Bakewell, Chatsworth and Tissington or a cycle ride from Carsington Water, your choice is endless. |
