Rock Cottage, built traditionally of local stone is situated in the ancient village of Alport. The cottage was totally refurbished during 2003/4 to provide a very comfortable and beautifully furnished holiday home.

As well as free entry to Haddon Hall, guests at Rock Cottage will have free membership to Bakewell Golf Club with complimentary green fees.

Set within the estate of Haddon Hall, a spectacular manor house and medieval hall of national significance, surrounded by the Peak District National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

On the ground floor there is an entrance to a small hallway, sitting room with open fire, fully equipped kitchen, dining room and shower room with wc/wb. Stairs to the first floor lead to one double and one twin bedroom, a bathroom and a smaller bedroom suitable for one adult or two children.

There are outbuildings for storage of bicycles etc., a kennel for pets and a walled garden.

Residents of Rock Cottage enjoy complimentary entrance to Haddon Hall and Gardens - the home of the Manners Family, a unique example of building styles from the 12th to the 17th Centuries. The main Banqueting Hall is one of the finest medieval halls in England. The Great Chamber displays a number of tapestries. Leading from this room to the spectacular Long Room are solid oak steps, said to be from the roots of a single oak tree. The Rose Gardens created by the 9th Duchess of Rutland are the epitome of an English country garden. Haddon Hall has been very popular with period film-makers – most famously being the location for Franco Zefferelli's 'Jane Eyre'
